It's a Girl for Sophia Coppola

Oscar-winning writer and acclaimed director Sofia Coppola and singer Thomas Mars welcomed a baby girl, Romy, in Paris on Tuesday. This is the couple’s first child together. "Baby, mom and dad are all doing great," Coppola's rep said. Mars is the frontman for the French band Phoenix, which makes a cameo in Coppola's latest film Marie Antoinette.

Coppola was previously married for four years to director Spike Jones, with whom she had no children. In 2004, she won the Academy Award for best original screenplay for the film Lost in Translation. She also wrote and directed the highly lauded film The Virgin Suicides.
