The Friends Curse Strikes Again!

Matthew Perry’s much hyped new series, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, has been yanked off the air, and friends are worried the much rehabbed star will crack from the stress—and if the dreaded Friends curse will ever end.

A source says “Matthew is devastated. He tried so hard to make it work. He put a lot of pressure on himself. He’s not taking it well.” The 37 year old actor – who has entered rehab at least four times to kick alcohol and Vicodin—has his show pulled midseason.

Courteney Cox Arquette, 42, is barely on life support, as her new show Dirt has plummeted from 4 million viewers to 1.4 million. If the curse holds, she’ll follow Matt LeBlanc,39, whose sitcom, Joey, bombed and Lisa Kudrow, 43, who’s HBO series The Comeback tanked. While David Schwimmer, 40, hasn’t flamed out—it could be because he’s avoided big risks by sticking to low-profile theater work.

The friends curse attacks matters of the heart too. Jen Aniston, 38, has lost both Brad Pitt and Vince Vaughn. Star reported in February that Courtney’s marriage to hubby David could be in trouble (he rep says everything is fine). Even happily married Matt LeBlanc succumbed. He split from his wife of three years, Melissa McKnight, to date his Joey costar Andrea Anders. With Friends-curses like these, these actors don’t need enemies!
