Jessica and John arrive in Australia

Jessica Simpson who is sporting a brunette hairdo arrived in Australia yesterday by the side of her boyfriend, singer John Mayer. Mayer will perform the first show of his Australian tour in Perth tonight. Simpson, who split with her husband, Nick Lachey, in late 2005, has been dating Mayer for about nine months. The couple had kept their relationship under wraps until New Year's Eve when they were photographed embracing, kissing and letting their hair down at a party hosted by pop diva Christina Aguilera. Simpson is expected to spend about five days in Australia before returning to the US. Her tight schedule means she is unlikely to be with Mayer when he arrives in Melbourne on Saturday for his show at Vodafone Arena. He will perform next Sunday at the Point Nepean Festival.
