Britney left live and skipping

A broken CD left Britney Spears wishing the ground would swallow her up after she was caught miming during a 'live concert'. It skipped five times as Spears – who has been accused of not being able to sing live – danced and 'sang' Do Something on stage.

One member of the audience said: 'When the CD started skipping, she turned her back to the audience. Then, when it stopped, she turned around with this look on her face like she was going to be sick.'

Things went from bad to worse after her head microphone broke and slipped to her neck. But the show must go on and Spears, 25, who was performing at the House of Blues in Orlando, US, desperately tried to fix it – even though the device was not switched on.
