Elijah Wood is the victim of an online prank telling his fans he is gay.

Online jokers have started a website, elijahwoodisveryverygay, which gives photographic 'proof' proving the 'Lord Of The Rings' star is homosexual. Rather than take offence at the site, Elijah has praised the people behind it for their inventive sense of humour.

He told US chat show host Conan O'Brien: "There's one that's called elijahwoodisveryverygay, which is actually a personal favourite of mine, it's absolutely hilarious.
