Jessica Simpson on the View

"I'm in a really good place," Jessica told Rosie on The View yesterday. She added, "[People magazine] put this quote saying that I'm in love! I'm actually not dating John Mayer. You know, he's my friend, I've known him for a couple years." And, it seems that Simpson and Mayer will remain just that - friends only.

Their relationship, was blown out of proportion. It is, a Mayer pal tells Us Weekly, "a '2' her camp spun into an '11.'" In fact, a Mayer friend tells Us, the musician has lost a lot of respect for his brief fling and "now he will stay away from her. He thinks it's desperate. An attempt for her to stay in the spotlight."
