Victoria Beckham Launches DVB Clothing & Sunglass Line to US
Victoria Beckham is hoping to capitalize on her personal style and build her new lifestyle brand, DVB, into a world-wide brand - by first conquering the American market. DVB launched a line of sunglasses last month, and a denim collection is scheduled to be available in stores in June. The ambitious former Spice Girl is also planning to launch a his and her's fragrance line in September. The company, whose name is a combination of Victoria's and her hubby, David Beckham's, initials, could potentially make $150 million in retail sales in 2007. A push into fashion could help the famous couple to raise their profile in the States.
According to Women's Wear Daily, Victoria insists that DVB isn't your run of the mill celebrity fashion line; fashion is now her focus and she plans on having a lot of control over the brand.
Victoria Beckham has a lot on her plate; in addition to the denim collection, she is already working on a children's collection and she hopes to design a full ready-to-wear line that would debut on the runway.
And Posh Spice is no stranger to design; in addition to loving all things fashion, this footballer's wife sharpened her skills by collaborating on a denim collection with Rock & Republic for the past six seasons.
Her own denim collection will feature Japanese fabrics, contrast stitching, colored zippers, purple lining, and either a star or the DVB logo on the pocket. The jeans will range in price from $285 to $325.
DVB sunglasses can be found in high-end stores like Fred Segal, Harvey Nichols, Colette, Brown Thomas and Villa Moda; it will cost you around $280 to sport a pair of her shades. The collection: think oversized versions of Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn styles, and classic aviators - Victoria's eyewear du jour.
